Desoldering Pump

The Desoldering Pump, also called a solder sucker, is a hand-held, spring-loaded tool for removing molten solder from circuit boards. Melt a joint with your soldering iron, release the plunger and the pump sucks the solder away in one quick stroke, freeing components so they can be removed, replaced or reused without damaging the board.

Tip: Heat the joint until the solder is fully liquid, hold the nozzle flat over it and press the release button while the solder is still molten, then lift the iron. Adding a little fresh solder to old, dry joints helps the pump clear them in one go.
