Dual 4:1 MUX 74153

The Dual 4:1 MUX 74153 is a 7400-series logic IC containing two 4-input data selectors (multiplexers). Two shared select inputs, A and B, choose which of the four data inputs (C0 to C3) is passed to each output, and each multiplexer has its own active-LOW strobe (enable) input. It is widely used in digital electronics courses to build data selectors, logic functions and parallel-to-serial circuits.

Tip: Connect the strobe pins (1 and 15) to GND to enable the multiplexers; when a strobe is HIGH, its output is forced LOW. With B as the high bit and A as the low bit, BA = 00 selects C0 and BA = 11 selects C3. Add a 100 nF capacitor between pins 16 and 8.
