Description

The GY-291 ADXL345 is a 3-axis digital accelerometer module based on the Analog Devices ADXL345 sensor. It measures acceleration and tilt on the X, Y and Z axes with selectable ranges up to ±16 g, and sends the data over I2C or SPI, so it connects easily to Arduino, ESP32 and Raspberry Pi boards. Built-in tap, free-fall and activity detection make it useful for motion projects.

GY-291 ADXL345 Specifications

  • Sensor: ADXL345 3-axis accelerometer
  • Measurement range: ±2 g, ±4 g, ±8 g or ±16 g, selectable
  • Resolution: up to 13-bit, about 4 mg per step in full-resolution mode
  • Interface: I2C or SPI
  • I2C address: 0x53 (SDO low) or 0x1D (SDO high)
  • Output data rate: 0.1 Hz to 3200 Hz
  • Interrupt pins: INT1 and INT2
  • Pins: GND, VCC, CS, INT1, INT2, SDO, SDA, SCL

GY-291 ADXL345 Applications

  • Tilt and orientation sensing
  • Step counters and activity trackers
  • Free-fall and drop detection
  • Vibration and shock monitoring
  • Motion-controlled games, robots and gesture input

What's in the Box

  • 1 × GY-291 ADXL345 accelerometer module

Tip: For I2C, connect SDA and SCL to your board's I2C pins (A4 and A5 on an Arduino Uno, GPIO21 and GPIO22 on most ESP32 boards) and keep CS high to select I2C mode. Libraries such as the Adafruit ADXL345 library make reading the sensor easy.
