OP-Amp Buffer LM310

The OP-Amp Buffer LM310 is a voltage follower IC: an operational amplifier with its feedback connected internally for a fixed gain of 1. It has a very low input current and a low output impedance, so it can copy a signal from a high-impedance source, such as a sensor, a capacitor or a resistor divider, and drive a load without disturbing that source. Its high speed also suits fast signals and sample-and-hold circuits.

Tip: The LM310 needs a dual supply of at least ±5 V, and its gain is fixed at 1, so it cannot amplify. Place 0.1 µF decoupling capacitors close to both supply pins, and check the connection diagram in the datasheet before wiring, because it has no inverting input and uses booster and balance pins instead.
