TCRT5000 IR reflex Tracking Sensor Module Smart Car

The TCRT5000 IR reflex Tracking Sensor module detects whether the surface under it reflects infrared light, which makes it ideal for following a black line on a white floor. The TCRT5000 contains an infrared LED and a phototransistor side by side, and the module adds a comparator with a sensitivity trimmer so it gives a clean digital signal to an Arduino, ESP32 or robot controller.

Tip: Mount the sensor a few millimetres above the track and turn the trimmer until the output switches cleanly between the black line and the white floor. Bright sunlight contains infrared and can upset the readings, so shade the sensor when testing outdoors.
