TCRT5000 Tracking Module Digital

The TCRT5000 Tracking Module Digital is an infrared reflective sensor board for line-following robots and short-range object detection. The TCRT5000 sensor pairs an infrared LED with a phototransistor, and an LM393 comparator on the board turns the reflected light into a clean digital signal that an Arduino, ESP32 or Raspberry Pi can read directly. A potentiometer on the board sets the switching threshold.

Tip: Mount the sensor a few millimetres above the track and turn the potentiometer while watching the output until it switches cleanly between the black line and the white floor. Strong sunlight contains infrared and can upset the readings, so test under the lighting you will actually use.
