The XR2206 Function Signal Generator Kit produces sine, triangle and square waves from 1 Hz to 1 MHz, with controls to adjust both frequency and amplitude. This version comes fully soldered and fitted in a case, so it is ready to use as a low-cost signal source for testing amplifiers, filters and audio circuits, and for learning to use an oscilloscope.

Tip: Power it from a 9–12 V DC adapter. Turn the amplitude down before connecting the output to a microcontroller or logic input, because the square wave can reach about 8 V, more than a 5 V or 3.3 V pin can take.
