Description

The 24 Bit WS2812 5050 RGB LED board is a round ring of 24 WS2812 addressable RGB LEDs in 5050 packages, each with its own built-in driver chip. A single data pin from an Arduino, ESP32 or Raspberry Pi Pico sets the colour and brightness of every LED individually, so you can make clocks, spinners, status rings and light effects with very little wiring.

24 Bit WS2812 5050 RGB LED Specifications

  • LEDs: 24 × WS2812 5050 RGB, individually addressable
  • Driver: built into each LED
  • Supply voltage: 5 V
  • Data: single-wire serial at 800 kHz
  • Colour: 8 bits per colour channel (24-bit colour, about 16 million colours)
  • Connections: DI (data in), DO (data out for chaining), VCC and GND
  • Shape: round ring board

24 Bit WS2812 5050 RGB LED Applications

  • LED clocks, dials and gauges
  • Status and notification lights for IoT devices
  • Robot eyes and light effects
  • Lamps, wearables and cosplay props
  • Learning addressable LEDs with the FastLED or Adafruit NeoPixel libraries

What's in the Box

  • 1 × 24-LED WS2812 ring board

Tip: Use a 5 V supply that can deliver enough current: at full white each LED can draw about 60 mA, around 1.4 A for all 24. Add a 300–500 Ω resistor in the data line and a large capacitor (about 1000 µF) across the supply, and connect the ring's GND to the controller's GND.
