Crystal Oscillator 5MHz

The Crystal Oscillator 5MHz is a quartz crystal that provides a stable 5 MHz frequency reference for microcontrollers, digital logic and test circuits. Connected to an oscillator circuit with two small load capacitors, it keeps timing far more accurate and stable than an RC oscillator. It is useful for custom microcontroller boards, frequency references and electronics experiments.

Tip: Keep the crystal close to the oscillator pins and connect a capacitor of about 18–22 pF from each pin to ground. When you use it with a PIC microcontroller, select the HS oscillator mode, which is meant for crystals above 4 MHz.
