AD620 D920

The AD620 is a low-power instrumentation amplifier IC in an 8-pin package. A single external resistor sets its gain anywhere from 1 to 10,000, and its high common-mode rejection lets it amplify the tiny difference between two inputs while ignoring noise that appears on both. It is widely used with strain gauges, load cells, pressure sensors, thermocouples and ECG electrodes.

Tip: For a gain of 100, use an RG of about 499 Ω (49.4 kΩ / 99). In single-supply circuits, bias REF (pin 5) to mid-supply so the output can swing both ways, and decouple both supply pins with 100 nF capacitors.
