CAN-BUS Shield Sparkfun DEV13262

The CAN-BUS Shield (SparkFun DEV-13262) lets an Arduino talk on a Controller Area Network (CAN) bus, the network used in cars, trucks and many industrial machines. It combines the Microchip MCP2515 CAN controller and MCP2551 CAN transceiver with a DB9 connector, so you can read vehicle data through the OBD-II port with a suitable cable, log it and build your own car diagnostics projects.

Tip: A CAN bus needs 120 Ω termination at each end, so check whether your network is already terminated before connecting. To connect to a car you need a DB9 to OBD-II cable, which is sold separately.
