Diode Zener 0.5W 6.8V

Tip: Always use a series resistor to limit the current. For a 12 V supply and 10 mA of zener current, R = (12 − 6.8) / 0.01 ≈ 520 Ω, so a 510 Ω or 560 Ω resistor works; connect the banded end (cathode) towards the positive side.
