Electrolytic Capacitor (50V) 1uF (5pcs)

The Electrolytic Capacitor (50V) 1uF is a polarised electrolytic capacitor with a capacitance of 1 µF and a 50 V rating, sold in a pack of 5. Small values like 1 µF are used to couple audio and signal stages, to set timing in 555 timer circuits and in charge-pump chips such as the MAX232. The 50 V rating leaves a wide safety margin in 5 V, 12 V and 24 V projects.

Tip: Electrolytic capacitors are polarised: connect the longer lead (+) to the higher voltage and the lead next to the stripe (−) to ground. Fitting it backwards or going above 50 V can damage the capacitor.
