Electromagnet 12V 1515P-12V80 2kg Pull

The Electromagnet 12V 1515P-12V80 is a compact round holding electromagnet that runs on 12 V DC and gives up to 2 kg of pull on a steel surface. With a diameter of about 15 mm it fits into small mechanisms, where it can hold light steel parts, latches or tokens while powered and let them go as soon as the current is switched off.

Tip: Drive the coil through a relay, transistor or MOSFET instead of a microcontroller pin, and place a 1N4007 or similar diode across the coil (cathode to +) to absorb the switch-off spike. The holding force is highest on clean, flat steel in full contact with the face; even a small air gap reduces it noticeably.
