Description
The ESP-12F Serial WiFi Module (Mini NodeMCU) is a compact Wi-Fi module built around the ESP-12F, which contains the ESP8266 Wi-Fi chip with a 32-bit processor, flash memory and an on-board PCB antenna. It can run your own program and connect sensors, relays and displays to your network or the internet, so it is a popular low-cost choice for IoT and home automation projects programmed with the Arduino IDE, NodeMCU Lua or MicroPython.
ESP-12F Serial WiFi Module Specifications
- Module: ESP-12F
- Chip: ESP8266, 32-bit processor at 80 MHz (up to 160 MHz)
- Flash memory: 4 MB (32 Mbit), standard for the ESP-12F
- Wi-Fi: 802.11 b/g/n, 2.4 GHz
- Antenna: on-board PCB antenna
- Logic voltage: 3.3 V
- Programming: Arduino IDE (ESP8266 core), NodeMCU Lua firmware or MicroPython
ESP-12F Serial WiFi Module Applications
- IoT sensors that send readings to cloud dashboards or spreadsheets
- Wi-Fi relays, smart plugs and home automation
- Small web servers to control devices from a phone
- MQTT clients for smart home systems
- Learning Wi-Fi, networking and IoT programming
What's in the Box
- 1 × ESP-12F serial WiFi module (Mini NodeMCU)
Tip: The ESP8266 runs at 3.3 V and its pins are not 5 V tolerant, so use a logic level converter when connecting it to 5 V Arduino signals. Wi-Fi transmission causes short current peaks, so power it from a supply that can deliver at least 500 mA.
