Germanium Diode 1N60

The Germanium Diode 1N60 is a small-signal germanium point-contact diode in a glass axial package. Its main advantage is a low forward voltage, around 0.2–0.3 V at small currents compared with about 0.6–0.7 V for a silicon diode, so it can detect and rectify very weak signals. It is the classic detector diode for AM and crystal radio receivers.
