Description

The LilyPad 328 ATmega328P Main Board 16M is a round, Arduino-compatible microcontroller board designed for wearables and e-textiles. Its pins end in large petal-shaped pads that you can sew to fabric with conductive thread, so LEDs, buttons and sensors can be stitched into clothing, bags and costumes. It uses the ATmega328P, the same chip as the Arduino Uno, here running at 16 MHz.

LilyPad 328 ATmega328P Main Board 16M Specifications

  • Microcontroller: ATmega328P
  • Clock speed: 16 MHz
  • Flash memory: 32 KB (part used by the bootloader)
  • SRAM: 2 KB
  • EEPROM: 1 KB
  • Connections: sewable petal pads around the edge
  • Programming: 6-pin serial (FTDI-style) header, using a USB-to-serial adapter
  • Shape: round, flat board for sewing

LilyPad 328 ATmega328P Main Board 16M Applications

  • Light-up clothing, bags and costumes
  • Wearable sensors and motion counters
  • Interactive e-textile and art projects
  • STEM and design classes on soft circuits

What's in the Box

  • 1 × LilyPad 328 ATmega328P main board, 16 MHz

Tip: The board has no USB port, so you need a USB-to-serial adapter (FTDI or CH340) on the 6-pin header to upload sketches. The ATmega328P datasheet calls for about 4.5–5.5 V for reliable 16 MHz operation, so a 5 V supply is the safest choice. Note that the standard "LilyPad Arduino" option in the Arduino IDE is set for 8 MHz boards.
