Description
The MPU9250 9-Axis Attitude sensor module combines a 3-axis gyroscope, a 3-axis accelerometer and a 3-axis magnetometer in one MPU9250 chip. Together these nine axes let you work out orientation (attitude), heading and motion, which is what drones, self-balancing robots, gimbals and motion trackers need. It talks to Arduino, ESP32 and Raspberry Pi boards over I2C or SPI.
MPU9250 9-Axis Attitude Specifications
- Sensor chip: MPU9250 (gyroscope and accelerometer plus an AK8963 magnetometer)
- Gyroscope range: ±250, ±500, ±1000 or ±2000 °/s
- Accelerometer range: ±2, ±4, ±8 or ±16 g
- Magnetometer range: ±4800 µT
- Resolution: 16-bit ADCs for the gyroscope and accelerometer
- Interface: I2C (up to 400 kHz) or SPI (up to 1 MHz, 20 MHz for reading sensor data)
- Chip supply voltage: 2.4 V to 3.6 V
- Extras: on-chip Digital Motion Processor (DMP)
MPU9250 9-Axis Attitude Applications
- Flight controllers for drones and RC aircraft
- Self-balancing robots and camera gimbals
- Electronic compass and heading measurement
- Motion tracking, gesture control and wearables
- Tilt and vibration monitoring
What's in the Box
- 1 × MPU9250 9-axis sensor module
Tip: The MPU9250 chip itself runs at 3.3 V, so check whether your board has an on-board regulator before powering it from 5 V. On I2C the default address is 0x68 (0x69 with AD0 pulled high). Calibrate the magnetometer away from motors, magnets and steel before using it as a compass.
