The Schottky Diode1N5819 pack contains five 1N5819 Schottky barrier rectifier diodes rated 40 V and 1 A. Schottky diodes have a much lower forward voltage drop and faster switching than standard silicon rectifiers such as the 1N4007, which makes the 1N5819 a common choice for DC-DC converters, solar chargers and reverse-polarity protection in low-voltage circuits.
