Tip: On most 3-pin lighted switches one pin is the supply in, one is the output to the load and the third is the lamp ground, which must go to negative or neutral for the lamp to light. Check the pin markings and the lamp voltage printed on the switch before wiring, because a lamp made for 12 V will fail on mains and a mains neon lamp will not light on 12 V.
