Transformer 12Vx2 10VA

The Transformer 12Vx2 10VA is a step-down mains transformer with two 12 V AC secondary sections (12 V × 2) and a total power rating of 10 VA. Connected in series, the sections give 24 V AC end to end, or a 12-0-12 V supply with the midpoint as a centre tap. It is a practical choice for small linear power supplies, op-amp dual rails, control boards and electronics teaching labs.

Tip: Check the secondary wires first: three wires usually mean one centre-tapped winding, while four wires mean two separate 12 V windings. When joining two separate windings in series, if the end-to-end voltage reads close to 0 V instead of 24 V, swap the leads of one winding. The primary connects to mains: insulate it, add a fuse and work on it only when unplugged.
