Transformer 9-0-9V 40VA

The Transformer 9-0-9V 40VA is a step-down transformer with a centre-tapped secondary winding that gives 9 V AC on each side of the centre tap, or 18 V AC across the two outer wires. Its 40 VA rating makes it a solid base for linear power supplies, audio amplifier projects and dual-rail circuits that need up to about 2 A.

Tip: Check that the primary rating on the label matches your mains supply (220–230 V in Lebanon) and insulate every mains connection before switching on. For a full-wave supply, use the centre tap as 0 V with one diode on each outer wire, and plan for less DC current than the AC rating.
