Description
The UHF wiegand RFID Reader is a vehicle access control reader that identifies UHF RFID tags from a distance and sends each tag's ID to an access controller over a Wiegand interface. It reads tags that follow the ISO 18000-6C standard, also known as EPC Class 1 Gen 2, the common protocol for UHF windshield tags, cards and labels. It is meant for parking barriers, gated communities and car park entrances, where drivers pass the gate without stopping to present a card.

Tip: Connect the reader's Wiegand D0, D1 and GND lines to the matching terminals on your access controller and set the controller to the same Wiegand format. Use UHF ISO 18000-6C tags only: 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz cards will not work, and some metal-coated windshields block UHF signals, so test the tag position before final mounting.
