Zener Diode 0.5W 18V

The Zener Diode 0.5W 18V is a silicon Zener diode that holds a steady 18 V across itself when connected in reverse with a series resistor. Tip: Always use a series resistor and connect the diode in reverse: cathode (band) to the positive side. For example, from a 24 V supply a 680 Ω resistor gives about 9 mA through the Zener, well inside the 0.5 W limit.
