4 x AAA Battery Holder Box, With Cover/on-off

It gives about 6 V with alkaline batteries, or about 4.8 V with rechargeable NiMH cells, in a smaller and lighter pack than an AA holder, which suits handheld gadgets, small robots and portable sensor projects.

Tip: 6 V from alkaline cells is too high for the 5 V pin of an Arduino and below the 7 V or more that the Uno's barrel jack needs, so feed boards through a suitable regulator, or use the box for loads such as servos and small motors that run at 4.8–6 V. AAA cells hold less charge than AA cells, so switch the box off when it is not in use.
