Tip: The DC jack on an Arduino Uno feeds the on-board regulator, and a 9 V battery is inside its recommended 7–12 V input range. A 9 V battery holds limited energy, so for motors or long run times use a larger battery pack. Check the plug polarity (normally centre positive) with a multimeter before using it on other devices.
