6 x AA Battery Holder + DC Jack

The 6 x AA Battery Holder with DC jack holds six AA batteries in series and delivers their combined voltage on a lead fitted with a DC jack connector. With alkaline cells it gives about 9 V, a useful level for powering an Arduino Uno through its barrel jack, as well as robots, motor drivers and other portable electronics projects.

Tip: 9 V is inside the 7–12 V range recommended for the Arduino Uno barrel jack. Before connecting, check that the plug fits your board and is centre-positive, and insert each battery with its flat negative end against the spring.
