8 x AA Battery Holder Box (Back-to- Back)

The 8 x AA Battery Holder Box holds eight AA cells in a compact back-to-back layout, with four cells on each side. The cells are connected in series to give about 12 V with alkaline batteries or about 9.6 V with NiMH rechargeables, a useful portable supply for Arduino boards, 12 V motors, robot cars and other battery-powered projects.

Tip: Insert each cell following the + and − marks, as one reversed cell lowers the voltage and drains the others. Fresh alkaline cells can give over 12.5 V in total, which is fine for the Arduino VIN input but may be too much for some 12 V-only devices, so check it with a multimeter first.
