CNC Shield V3 Engraving Machine

The CNC Shield V3 is an expansion board that turns an Arduino Uno into a controller for small CNC machines, engravers, pen plotters and similar projects. It holds up to four plug-in stepper motor drivers such as the A4988 or DRV8825 and works with the open-source GRBL firmware, so you can send G-code from a PC to drive your machine.

• Compatible board: Arduino Uno (plugs on top)
• Driver slots: 4 (X, Y, Z and A); the A axis can clone another axis or run from pins D12 and D13
• Supported drivers: A4988, DRV8825 and other Pololu-footprint stepper drivers
• Motor power input: 12–36 V DC through a screw terminal
• Microstepping: jumper selectable for each axis
• Connections: end stop inputs, spindle enable and direction, coolant enable, plus abort, hold, resume and E-stop headers
• Firmware: GRBL compatible

Tip: Set each driver's current limit before connecting motors, and always plug drivers in the right way round with the power off, because a reversed driver is damaged instantly. Never connect or disconnect a stepper motor while the shield is powered, and keep the motor supply within your drivers' voltage limit.
