Description

The Keyestudio 3V Sensor Shield Board is an expansion board for the BBC micro:bit. With the micro:bit plugged into its edge connector, the IO pins are brought out to 3-pin G/V/S headers, so sensors and modules connect with simple Dupont cables instead of crocodile clips. It is ideal for classrooms and makers who want to connect more parts to a micro:bit.

Keyestudio 3V Sensor Shield Board Specifications

  • Compatible with: BBC micro:bit
  • Operating voltage: 3.0 V to 3.3 V
  • Pin headers: micro:bit edge IO pins broken out to 3-pin G (GND), V (VCC) and S (signal) headers
  • Pitch: 2.54 mm
  • Clip rings: gold rings for crocodile clip leads
  • Power: from the micro:bit's battery box, or 3 V through the clip rings or V/G headers
  • Size: 76 × 63 × 12 mm, with 4 mounting holes

Keyestudio 3V Sensor Shield Board Applications

  • Classroom micro:bit projects with several sensors
  • Connecting 3-pin modules such as buttons, LEDs, light and temperature sensors
  • Smart home and weather station models
  • STEM coding lessons with MakeCode

What's in the Box

  • 1 × Keyestudio 3V sensor shield board (BBC micro:bit not included)

Tip: The shield runs at 3 V, the micro:bit's own level, so choose modules that work at 3.3 V; 5 V-only parts such as many servos and ultrasonic sensors may not work properly. Switch off the power before inserting or removing the micro:bit.
