Proximity Switch CR18-8DP

The Autonics Proximity Switch CR18-8DP is an M18 capacitive proximity sensor that detects metal and non-metal objects, including plastic, wood, glass, paper, liquids and powders, at up to 8 mm. It has a PNP normally open output, runs on 12–24 VDC, and has a sensitivity potentiometer so you can tune it to the material you need to detect, even through the wall of a non-metal tank or hopper.

Tip: Set the sensitivity with the potentiometer for your target material: find the points where the output switches on and off with no target present, then set it midway between them. Keep the sensing face clean and dry, since moisture build-up can cause false triggering.
