Description

The LM35DZ is a precision analog temperature sensor in a 3-pin TO-92 package. Its output voltage rises by 10 mV for every degree Celsius, so at 25 °C it gives 250 mV and no calibration or conversion table is needed. It is easy to read with the analog input of an Arduino, ESP32 or any ADC, and it runs from 4 V to 30 V with a very low supply current.

LM35DZ Specifications

  • Sensor type: analog, linear Celsius output
  • Scale factor: 10 mV/°C (0 mV at 0 °C)
  • Measuring range: 0 °C to 100 °C (LM35D grade)
  • Accuracy: ±1.5 °C maximum at 25 °C
  • Supply voltage: 4 V to 30 V
  • Supply current: under 60 µA, so self-heating is very low
  • Package: TO-92, 3 pins (+Vs, Vout, GND)

LM35DZ Applications

  • Room and greenhouse temperature monitoring
  • Arduino and ESP32 weather stations and data loggers
  • Fan, heater and thermostat control
  • Over-temperature alarms for power supplies and batteries
  • STEM lessons on analog sensors

What's in the Box

  • 1 × LM35DZ temperature sensor

Tip: With the flat face towards you and the legs pointing down, the pins are +Vs, Vout and GND from left to right. On a 5 V Arduino, the temperature in °C is the analogRead value × 500 / 1024.
