7805 5V 1.5A voltage regulator

Tip: Fit a 0.33 µF capacitor on the input and a 0.1 µF capacitor on the output, close to the pins. The regulator turns the extra voltage into heat, (Vin − 5 V) × current, so 12 V in at 0.5 A means 3.5 W, which needs a heatsink.
