OP-Amp UA741

The OP-Amp UA741 is the classic general-purpose operational amplifier, with one op-amp in an 8-pin package. It has internal frequency compensation and output short-circuit protection, so it is stable and forgiving in lab circuits. It is widely used in electronics courses to learn inverting and non-inverting amplifiers, comparators, integrators and active filters.

Tip: The UA741 is not rail-to-rail: its output stays one to two volts away from each supply rail, so it works best on ±12 V or ±15 V. For single 5 V Arduino projects, a rail-to-rail op-amp is usually a better choice.
