Potentiometer 2W 1M ohm

The Potentiometer 2W 1M ohm is a rotary variable resistor with a total resistance of 1 MΩ (1,000,000 ohms) and a power rating of 2 W. Turning the shaft moves the wiper along the track, so you can set any resistance from almost zero up to 1 MΩ between the wiper and one end. Its very high value lets only microamps flow, which suits high-impedance audio stages, long RC time delays and sensitivity adjustments.

Tip: For a voltage divider, connect the two outer pins to the supply and GND and take the output from the centre pin. A 1 MΩ value is too high for steady Arduino analog readings, so for microcontroller controls choose about 10 kΩ, or add a 100 nF capacitor from the wiper to GND.
