Potentiometer Carbon 10M ohm

The Potentiometer Carbon 10M ohm is a carbon-track potentiometer with a resistance of 10 MΩ. Adjusting the control moves a wiper along the carbon track, so you can vary the resistance or pick off any voltage between the two ends. It is a low-cost part for high-impedance circuits, long timing delays and voltage dividers that must draw almost no current.

Tip: Use all three pins as a voltage divider, or the wiper (usually the middle pin) and one end as a variable resistor. A 10 MΩ track has a very high output impedance, so buffer the wiper with an op-amp before feeding an ADC such as an Arduino analog input.
