The Potentiometer Carbon1M ohm is a variable resistor with a 1 MΩ carbon resistive track and three terminals. Moving the wiper along the track changes the resistance between the middle pin and each outer pin, so it works as an adjustable voltage divider or variable resistor. The high 1 MΩ value suits high-impedance circuits such as op-amp gain settings, long RC timing adjustments and sensitivity controls.
