Potentiometer Carbon 220k

The Potentiometer Carbon 220k is a carbon-track potentiometer with a total resistance of 220 kΩ. Turning the adjuster moves a wiper along the track, so the resistance between the wiper and each end changes smoothly from almost zero up to 220 kΩ. High values like this suit audio, op-amp and timing circuits where very little current should flow through the control.

Tip: Connect the two outer pins across the voltage and take the adjustable voltage from the wiper, usually the middle pin. For Arduino analog inputs a 10 kΩ potentiometer gives steadier readings; if you use this 220 kΩ part and the readings jump, add a 100 nF capacitor from the wiper to GND.
