Potentiometer Carbon 5M ohm

The Potentiometer Carbon 5M ohm is a carbon-track potentiometer with a resistance of 5 MΩ. Adjusting the control moves a wiper along the carbon track, letting you vary the resistance or set any voltage between the two ends of the track. It is an economical choice for high-impedance circuits, long RC timing and dividers that should draw only about a microamp.

Tip: Use all three pins as a voltage divider, or the wiper (usually the middle pin) and one end as a variable resistor. A 5 MΩ track has a very high output impedance, so buffer the wiper with an op-amp before connecting it to an ADC such as an Arduino analog input.
