Inductor RF Choke 1mH

The Inductor RF Choke 1mH is a fixed through-hole inductor with an inductance of 1 mH (1000 µH), used as a radio-frequency (RF) choke. A choke lets DC and low-frequency signals pass but strongly resists high frequencies, so it is used to keep RF and switching noise out of power lines and to separate signal paths in radio and audio circuits.

Tip: Inductors have no polarity, so they can be fitted either way round. At 1 MHz a 1 mH choke has a reactance of about 6.3 kΩ (X = 2πfL), which is why it blocks RF while DC passes freely. If the body is colour-coded, 1 mH reads brown, black, red.
