Potentiometer Carbon 500 Ohm

The Potentiometer Carbon 500 Ohm is a variable resistor with a carbon resistive track and a total resistance of 500 Ω. Turning the adjuster moves the wiper along the track, giving you a hand-set resistance or voltage. The low 500 Ω value is useful where a circuit needs fine adjustment of a small resistance, for example setting current, bias or the level of a low-impedance signal.

Tip: Used as a voltage divider across 5 V, a 500 Ω track draws about 10 mA all the time. When used as a variable resistor in series with a load, add a fixed resistor so the current stays safe when the wiper is turned to 0 Ω.
