It protects the board from dust, knocks and accidental short circuits from tools or wires on the desk, and it has a mount for a 3007 cooling fan (30 × 30 × 7 mm), which helps keep the Pi 4 cool under heavy loads. It is an inexpensive way to give a bare board a neat, finished housing.
