The Resistor 0.25W 1 ohm is a low-value through-hole resistor with a resistance of 1 Ω and a power rating of 0.25 W (1/4 W), sold in a pack of 10. With 1 Ω, the voltage across the resistor in volts equals the current in amps, which makes it handy as a simple current sense resistor for a multimeter or an Arduino analog input.

Tip: At 1 Ω, every 100 mA drops 0.1 V and uses only 0.01 W, but at 0.5 A the resistor reaches its full 0.25 W, so keep continuous current below about 0.35 A. Resistors have no polarity, so they can be fitted either way round.
