Tip: Resistors have no polarity, so they can be fitted either way round. The Arduino Uno's ADC is designed for sources of about 10 kΩ or less, so when you read a divider built from 180 kΩ resistors, add a 100 nF capacitor from the analog pin to ground for accurate readings.
