Tip: Resistors have no polarity, so they can be fitted either way round. With 33 Ω, the 0.25 W limit is reached at about 2.9 V across the resistor (about 87 mA), so never connect it directly across a 3.3 V or 5 V supply. Place series termination resistors close to the driving pin.
