Tip: Resistors have no polarity, so they can be fitted either way round. With 36 Ω, the 0.25 W limit is reached at 3 V across the resistor (about 83 mA), so it must never be connected directly across a 3.3 V or 5 V supply. Use it in series with a load and check the power with P = I² × R.
