The Resistor 0.25W 390 ohm is a through-hole fixed resistor with a resistance of 390 Ω and a power rating of 0.25 W, sold in a pack of 10. 390 Ω is a popular E12 value for LED current limiting on 5 V and 9 V circuits and for transistor base resistors, giving a little less current than the common 330 Ω.

Tip: Resistors have no polarity, so they can be fitted either way round. With 390 Ω, the 0.25 W limit is reached at about 9.9 V across the resistor (about 25 mA). A red LED on 5 V through 390 Ω draws about 8 mA, and on a 9 V battery about 18 mA, both within the usual 20 mA limit of a standard LED.
