Tip: Resistors have no polarity, so they can be fitted either way round. With 6.2 kΩ, the 0.5 W limit is reached at about 56 V across the resistor, so it is very safe in 3.3 V, 5 V and 12 V circuits. On a 4-band resistor, 6.2 kΩ is marked blue, red, red.
