The Resistor 0.5W 7.5 ohm is a through-hole fixed resistor with a very low resistance of 7.5 Ω and a power rating of 0.5 W, sold in a pack of 5. 7.5 Ω is an E24 series value used to measure or set current with only a small voltage drop, for example in current-sense circuits, constant-current LED drivers and series protection.

Tip: Watch the power: at 167 mA in the LM317 example the resistor dissipates about 0.21 W, which is fine, but 2 V across 7.5 Ω already gives 0.53 W, just over the 0.5 W rating.
