Resistor 2W 1K ohm

The Resistor 2W 1K ohm is a through-hole fixed resistor with a resistance of 1 kΩ and a power rating of 2 W. Its larger body handles four times the power of a common 0.5 W resistor, so it is a better choice for circuits running at 12 V, 24 V and above, LED loads, discharge and bleeder resistors, and anywhere a small resistor would run hot.

Tip: Resistors have no polarity, so they can be fitted either way round. With 1 kΩ, the 2 W limit is reached at about 45 V across the resistor (P = V² / R), and it runs warm near full power, so leave space around it and keep it away from heat-sensitive parts.
